The Neighbor of the beast.....Open Thread and media watch.

the neighbor of the beast....

Ok, I was aiming for a screen shot of 1666 on the unique hits counter, but I had to go and change a diaper.

Ah well, snooze ya lose eh?

Close enough. :)

I have been madly googling for any media coverage of the latest outrage that FF has been following so carefully. (There be updates BTW!)

NADDA. Do you have something? POST it here.
Alternately, this is an open thread, so anything goes. What's on your mind?

Just the blogs

Turn up at the top of google with the keywords.
If this was a Liberal move? the Cons would have squealed like pigs stuck in a door.

Any media dropping by? Is it normal to ignore a big story like this? Seriously, I really wanna know? We have democracy being DICTATED and a nekkie mayor? WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?

Powers that be, powers of three, keep me strong during this insanity......

At least we can still laugh

about this crap. From Zorpheous at The Wingnuterer.

From the "Did He Actually Write That" Dept., Blogging Tory Richard Evans is the only one of the BTs to weigh in on the Sharon Smith appointment, unless it's not actually Evans and his body double instead. Nah! It's him. This post might surprise you (h/t to CC). Make sure you have your smelling salts.

And also from CC, a comment on the Brendan Bell question. Yep, we only have something that's said to be 'common knowledge' around Yellowknife. I'll edit the update on the original post in a few moments.

Yeah, yeah. I'm no fun. blah blah Wink

667 is across the street from The Beast. At least you can see him coming. I feel more concern for 664 and 668. Does 'Steve' know that one is in the National Library? Surprised

668

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

Wow.

Thats amazing. The person that wrote that got in some of the substance, and still managed to be misogynistic. How many times was it pointed out that Sharon is a Woman using poor judgment....Still doesn't get it...Still trying to pass off the REAL issue here. lol

Biz as usual....

Im a little teapot....

The Harper Index Interviews David Coles

Agents provocateurs only the tip of Montebello story.

Read it here.

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

I was just poking around,

Still nothing...
But the part that I find odd? Is that Nathan Cullen has zip about this on his own site. hmmmm

Im a little teapot....

Sen. Larry Craig translated

from Republican to English (and you don't even need babblefish).

You meet interesting people in airport washrooms. What's wrong with that?

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

Hee hee hee

Finally have some confirmation that the 'go to' liaison thing in S-BV is not an accident nor is it a one-off. Looks to be part of a plan of some sort (h/t to kp at A Town Called Podunk)

Vancouver Island North MP Catherine Bell has already had a similar situation happen to her in her riding. Several months ago, the Tories named a candidate as the “go-to person” for the Conservative party, in what Cullen feels is an effort to undermine her and give the perception that she is not doing her job.

However, he (Cullen - my addition/ff)  is not sure yet if this practice is something the government has been doing across the whole country or not.

“I’m on my way right now to Montreal, where by coincidence, we’re having a caucus meeting to find out if this is happening across the board, but I don’t know,” said Cullen on Saturday afternoon.

“But according to what Dick Harris had to say, this is an accepted policy, and that they’re going to do this in ridings where they want to do it. We’ll be taking this to the next level obviously, the prime minister and the Ethics Commission, because this is unethical and likely illegal.”

So, there you have it kiddies. Cullen has responded, the NDP caucus is meeting this week discussing this very topic and has plans to to raise it before the Ethics Commission.

Now, did a search on the Prince Rupert Daily News and found this - too bad it's cut-off after the 3rd paragraph. Now you know why we can't find any info via news searches.

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

I have been googling

All day...glad you found something...
How about a press release, sent to the press? sheeeesh.

Powers that be, powers of three, keep me strong during this insanity......

Yeah. When is the NDP going to get around

to that. Need some action instead of more talk. btw - Since the Prince Rupert Daily News is part of CanWestMediaworks I have access to pdf captures of the pages. I'm going to grab the entire article tomorrow morning. I have nowehere to host them so I'll forward along to you when I have a chance.

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

Also googling

Trying to find reports from other participants and eyewitnesses as to what happened and what was said by the three police officers leading up to the events on the infamous Montebello video.

I haven't found much.

So far we have the video, some additional comments by Coles and this (not sure if already linked to) report of an interview with Paul Manley, the man behind the camera. Here too.

I'm not sure if more was said by Manley. I can't find a transcript of the full Manley interview given at the Tsawwassen, B.C. ferry terminal. (Why don't reporters link to full transcripts instead of leaving us to wonder if there is more?)
