Supporting Mz Z.

If you post a picture of yourself online wearing a T shirt that sayz:

"Nobody knows I am Gay"

You should expect people to make observations of some sort. Really.

So what was said?

Yes, Susan, imagine my surprise when I saw Bernie Farber identifying himself as queer by joining a pro-Israel gay rights group in the parade. Funny because I had never seen him in the march before. Funny because I didn't know he was gay.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. He even posted a picture of himself, and on Twitter wrote: ''Pride just finishe, great day to be a Jew and Zionist in Toronto

A comment in response to a twitter with a link to an self uploaded picture of himself that professed that he was gay......

I guess when you wear a T shirt in a gay pride parade that says  "Nobody knows I am Gay"it means the opposite. Better mentally file that away! Who knew? Because sure as hell, Zionism has nothing to do with being gay and in being in a Pride parade. eh?

Now, some folks do have their knickers in a twist about this....Mz Z is to be held to a higher standard, blah blah.

And the Public Editor at the Tor Star is falling all over herself in complete suck up mode. So unpleasant. How can one respect that sort of simpering is beyond me I am afraid. The woman cannot even get her factoids straight. 

First, this column is intended to address publicly the valid concerns of the Canadian Jewish Congress, whose chief executive officer, Bernie Farber, was the subject of a Zerbisias blog post that was tasteless and fell short of the Star's standards of fairness, accuracy and civility. That's a view shared by publisher John Cruickshank.

Cruikshank the publisher, extraordinary coward, and smug git, who also pulled the same stunt with Heather Mallick. Is a Corporate hack. This could only happen in todays media which worries more about keeping the sponsors happy that anything else. ANYTHING.

CBC got 300 crayon scrawled messages from the FAUX news wingnut contingent who aren't even sponsoring anything about a Heather Mallick column and bammo! He panicked.  Tells ya something right there.

Only 300? Jeebus, they are falling behind. Betcha Kos gets a lot more. But he posts his, and they are so MUCH fun. But to laugh at, not to capitulate to. Sheeesh.

One has to suspect that Farber really didn't like being called on the carpet in an earlier column, and has decided to act like a prig when he thinks he will get away with it on this one.

Freedom of Expression: Excuse me but since when did the interests of Zionist lobby groups determine who or what Canadians can see and hear?
In recent months, to list just three examples, there have been concerted campaigns against the staging of Caryl Churchill's controversial Seven Jewish Children: A Play for Gaza and an academic conference at York University where the so-called "one-state solution'' was to be discussed. We also saw British MP George Galloway be denied entry to the country for a speaking tour, just because he brought aid to bombed-out Gaza.
Now comes word that the only way the respected Al-Jazeera English news service, currently applying for TV distribution in Canada, can win the support of these same Jewish groups is to have them become consultants.

Yup. Me thinks that part is the actual knicker twister device. But it is hard to argue cold hard facts, so in a pinch go for the faux moral outrage. It is cheap and tawdry enough to bring on that desired CHILL.

I only have one bone to pick with Mz Z, All the gay people I know are WAY cooler, and nice people. (except for the rumours of the in the closet cabinet minister. Shhhh it's a sekrit)  Farber? He's a Moutarde. (TM)

It wouldn't have been a mistake I would have made despite the T shirt that he donned knowingly which professed he was Gay. :) Tsk tsk.
