Pundits: YOU go to the back of the bus.

Eat yer hat

Wow, a few of us have noticed the corporate owned media try to downplay the anger across the country on the Prorogue of Parliament. This Facebook group has them all gulping loudly.

It's an old strategy, one employed often.

Denigrate, try to make people think they are being SILLY!

Downplay the importance of the anger, and any effect it may have.

Try to make people feel as though they are unimportant.

Or: "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." - Mahatma Gandhi

Really galling since this here circus is being paid for by.....The same angry people that also have a vote.

Media message: Sit down at the back of the bus and STFU.

We know what is best for you!

The answer? No.

The media also forgets who pays them through purchasing their birdcage liners and sitting through the endless commercials that sell them more stuff they do not need....And they also forget who they are supposed to represent.

Let's have a little looksee.....Shall we?

Fundamental freedoms.

freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;

Now I suppose that could also mean they are "free" to support the government of the day, but I highly doubt that that is what the writers of the Charter intended. I really do think they put that in there so that the media felt free to make sure we are an informed citizenry. Call me Pollyanna, but I think I am on the right track with this one.

The Traditional Corporate  media certainly do feel free to support the Government come election time and during every boneheaded scandal the Harpercons have embroiled themselves in....

The "Unbiased" media seems to endorse whatever party they think will maybe win. Check this link out. Really. Unbiased media?

Now, if you clicked that link like I asked you too, you will perhaps notice something else. Media consolidation.

media in Canada are primarily owned by a small number of companies, including CTVglobemedia, Canwest, Rogers, Shaw, Astral, Newcap and Quebecor. Each of these companies holds a diverse mix of television, cable television, radio, newspaper, magazine and/or internet operations. Some smaller media companies also exist. In 2007, CTVglobemedia, Astral Media, Quebecor, Canwest Global and Rogers all expanded significantly, through the acquisitions of CHUM Limited, Standard Broadcasting, Osprey Media, Alliance Atlantis and Citytv, respectively.

So a very small group, of very powerful people, control the entire sha-bang pretty much. And this whole facebook thing? It is bad for business. Very bad.

REALLY bad.

So, if you read something by the pundit/editorialist in your "local" paper? Do take it with a grain of salt. Or the whole shaker.

This is not tin foil hat stuff folks. This is all 100% verifiable fact.

If your future, and the future of your country are important to you? Go back to the front of the bus, you paid for the ticket.

Very well Done!

It would be nice if they (corporate media) can all cave and hide wouldn't it? Go crawl into that same hole ol' Stevie crawled into.

Well Said!!

And terrific link, Pale! That's why we read YOU - & other Alternative media.

Without the indy alternative media....

We would be in far worse shape eh? OY.

Fagstein is good. :) Hehehhe.

It's a fact: 100% of all the people who ate carrots in 1850, are dead.
