Liberal derangement syndrome, HARPER hate bashing and other conservative mythology.

Interesting to watch the last few days on the blogs and in the media comments....
If you are on the anti prorogation side? You are either:

A) A LIBERAL!

B) You are HATE bashing Harper.

There are also those that INSIST that this prorogue is routine, and that the Liberals did it. Etc. There is little point in even bothering to point out the difference often enough. Education and facts are not in the lexicon of some of teh far right. That oft repeated lie has worked so well in the past, that they cannot get a new shtick.

Antonia Zerbisias has a column up today outlining her reasons for attending the rallies tomorrow, and the trolls are on it like a dirty shirt.

In the end it all comes down to what you think is right. Does the PM have the right to shut down Parliament in the middle of a global recession, wasting $125 million dollars on legislation that is now killed, and does he really think that no one cares?
But.....Many of us, see this as a piece in the puzzle. We can walk and chew gum, and do see this latest tactic as part of the larger whole.

I know many who are attending and have joined the CAPP group, who are not Liberals, in the party sense of the word.

I am not a Liberal, and although I have been accused of "partisanship", that comes off as pretty inane. I have no party, I think they all suck pretty much, but I vote strategically. In many areas of the country, voting strategically is not an auto endorsement for the Libs, BTW.

I hate Harper's Ideology. I won't give him that kind of emotional power though.  I think many are on that page.

I believe in social safety nets, and taking care of those in our society that need help. I believe that we need to employ Canadians, and not ship all our jobs off, and I think selling all the Canadian Corporations to foreign interests is shooting ourselves in the foot. I do not believe in corporate welfare, and government policies that are written to protect Corporations to the detriment of public health, and indeed to just our basic survival.

Workers should receive a living wage, and benefits. Women and all the "left wing fringes" should have the same rights as anyone else, and the same pay. I think Gay people should be able to marry, just like the rest of us "straights" and yanno, I really think that individual women are the best and only people to have any say in their reproductive lives.
I don't want the Government in my bedroom, my Uterus, or peeping at me through my clothing if I need to travel. I do not want the Government spying on me, or listening to my phone conversations.

I think Canada is full of basically good people who also believe in many of those same things. And when the numbers are looked at very closely? Over 60% of Canadians that voted last time, are centre/left of centre.

Harper and many of his far right MP's? Think the opposite on all of that. Ya. Wild hey? Nanny states, corporate rule, and the survival of the fittest.

How does that work out for the so called "average" Conservative supporter? Seriously? Unless one is in the Millionaire club, everything the Harper Conservatives stand for is directly opposed to their own best interests.

So. To all the trolls who may be "regular" people spewing the mythology they glean from the CPC? You sound like twits. Masochistic ones at that.
And in this country, you have the total right to metaphorically cut off your nose to spite your own face.  Why all the HATE towards those who don't feel that way?

Excellent Summary of Philosophy

Thanks, Pale! You've just summed up, in a few paragraphs, my personal political philosophy perfectly! (& I was NOT trying for alliteration! ;-) I've been trying to do that for years, without success. Thanks!

You took the words right out...

of my brain. Exactly, thanks Pale.

Great Post

My husband, who is the sound guy for Tommy Schnurmacher on Talk radio (safe here; those clowns are scared of sites like your's, Pale). Tommy is a Harpercon cheerleader. My husband is not: in fact, he's apathetic for the most part and isn't as far to the left as I am. He doesn't even follow my blog. He gets scared everytime I slam an Astral Radio host. It's why I left Tommy alone up until now.

Now, I kinda want my hubby fired. I can blog about that too.

Last week, Tommy berated a caller, grossly misquoted John McCallum, he needs to join Ezzy Levant as a defendant. Said something serious about Iggy without sources to back it up.

This morning, Tommy humiliated my hubby on the air. I am afraid he will do it again if nothing is done. Even if my hubby gets fired because of what I blog; I would be relieved. The second pay checque just ain't worth his dignity.

He humiliated my husband because he is a member of Canadians against proroguing parliament.

I want Tommy & his liberal derangement syndrome severely reprimanded. Hell, I want him off the air. I will give it my damndest; a one woman crusade and her blog.

Here is another article clearly demonstrating why Stevie's prorogations are in uncharted waters:

http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Only%20Canada%20Harper%20prorogation...

They (Tommy & the other Harpercon cheerleaders) are counting on low turn outs at the rallies tomorrow. Please, let's prove them wrong.

Thanks for listening

Scared of us?

Nah. :)

Sound like the guy is a real dick. Lemme know if you need some help with all of that eh?

It's a fact: 100% of all the people who ate carrots in 1850, are dead.
