Vic Toews and his travelling faux outrage show.

The Mythological librul media. Any doubts on that are easily squashed like a bug by the facts.

Vic Toews, hypocrite, misogynist, and hardassed homophobe has made a name for himself in many circles. A couple examples....

In Canada, hypocritical Bible-thumping politicians seem to be less common. But the Toews case is a doozy — not so much because of his divorce and out-of-wedlock baby, but because he's always taken a hard line against judicial appointments that look political. Back in the days of Paul Martin's Liberal government, when then-Justice Minister Irwin Cotler named his chief-of-staff to the Federal Court, Toews said, "It's just one more illustration of how who you know gets you on the bench." Politics, he bemoaned, plays an important role in judicial
appointments.

Do I personally care that Toews reportedly screwed around on his wife and then had an out of wedlock Bambino? Not really.....I do care that he has been a judgmental prick in the past.

I feel badly for his ex wife too. Always so shameful when a guy can't keep his dick in his pants to the detriment of someone that has supported and lived with his bullshit for like 35 years. And then he pulls that dick out pretty publically.

Compare and contrast Vic's fake activist judges rhetoric with this:

A strong majority of judges who made political donations before being elevated to the federal bench in recent years contributed to the Conservative party, a finding that suggests the Harper government is favouring those who are politically like-minded.
An Ottawa Citizen—Canwest News Service analysis found that 41 judges appointed by the Conservatives to the prestigious postings had donated to the party or its candidates since 2004.
The Tory donors represented almost two-thirds of judicial appointees who backed political parties by contributing cash before they were promoted to their $267,200-a-year postings.

It makes thinking people sick to watch these liars and buffoons whinge and whine constantly that anyone who questions their two faced fucking hypocrisy is a Liberal or part of the Liberal conspiracy.

I for one, am not a Liberal.

Well before Toews became Canada's Minister of Justice in early 2006, he told a national anti-abortion conference, "Parliament is limited in its ability to act because of judicial activism." He also did an interview with a U.S. group called Concerned Women for America (mission: "to protect traditional values that support the Biblical design of the family") in which he said, "We have seen these radical liberal judges who have their own social agenda coming to the bench and forgetting that their responsibility is to interpret the law and not to make the law. And so we are very, very concerned about that."

So the Harper Conservatives are just simply planning to make the courts reflect their own draconian, anti women homophobic and quite probably racist leanings.

But yanno? Rahim Jaffer's little case has opened up a whole can of worms. If you follow politics you know he was pulled over and charged with impaired driving, cocaine possession AND speeding. But that all went away...BUH bye. Would that have happened for a normal plebe? C'mon....

So the Judge who decided to give 'ol Jaffer a "break" has some Conservative ties. Surprise eh? Coinky dinks abound. I personally do not believe in them that much. Especially when they always seem to happen in the favour of Harper Conservatives.

That connection was reported, and 'ol Mr family values for thee, but not for me is screaming that it was a Provincial court decision. Why, yes it was.

We also know how this kind of stuff can work. It is who you know, we know from experience that the Conservative party has lots of ties when it comes to protecting their own and controlling the message. No one has said that IS what happened with the Jaffer Gaffe. But for those who love connecting dots it has some eyebrow raising possibilities....Now don't it?

Vic also peripherally called the reporter a "yellow journalist" because she reported the facts. He is also bringing his own Liberal derangement syndrome conspiracy theories into this, theories not founded in fact.

BTW, I am not advocating for the Harpercrite vision of getting tuff on crime. Nope. But I do think that if someone blows a breathalyzer that is over the legal limit, and is caught with something like coke, they should have to at least attend some sort of alcohol rehab, and they should carry a record for drunk driving. Perhaps some sort of community service to do with harm reduction? I do in fact think that harm reduction is the way to go.
But there ya go, with drunk driving? I have higher expectations than the Harpercons.

Odd that. Hey?

Awesome post! Covered it

Awesome post! Covered it all, you did. And thanks for that! Don't ya just LOVE how the Minister of Public Safety is SO concerned about OUR public safety re drunk drivers who are speeding (and- who knows - perhaps high on coke?) And what about the mandatory sentences for drug possession offences? Huh?
Disgusting Vicocrit! And the whole whack of the rest of them too!

Our own back yard

is littered with similar injustices. Gordon Campbell in Hawaii, Jane Thornthwaite during the Olympics, and now Kash Heed comes out for random breatholizers and tougher sentences. A police state, because of the actions of and Except for the rich and powerful!
