Mean Streets of Saskatchewan

I have to say I'm pretty surprised to hear that Regina and Saskatoon have the highest crime rates in Canada!?!  Well, Manitoba is first in car theft, but Saskatchewan is the tops for overall crime.

Nobody in the States is going to believe this.  I mean, I thought for sure Vancouver would be tops in something, but nooooooo, ABBOTSFORD BC is third!  Whaaaa?  The Bible Belt?  Surprised

That's the 9th year

Saskatchewan has led the parade by Province.

You mean Surrey is no longer the car theft capital of Canada? Is this Diane Watts' doing?

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

Could be.

As politicians go, I really like Mayor Watts.  I don't agree with every single thing she does or says, but all in all I really think she kicks ass.  Even though I DO NOT live in Surrey anymore.  Tongue out

Movin' on up.

Actually within White Rock city limits now?

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

And give away

the location of my secret blogging lair? Nevah!

Its weird hey?

But the part that I find interesting, is that despite all Steves claims that Canada is becoming a wicked mecca for crime, its the lowest in 30 years.
The stats are from 2006, so anything affecting it was more than likely from the Libs watch.
Poor steve, hes got his cowboy outfit and six shooter all ready.....and things arent as bad as hes been saying.

Something wicked this way comes....

Couldn't prove it by me.

I fully believe the reported statistics. But I hear of very little crime in my neck of the woods. 'Course we did just have a bank robbery here - first one in the twenty years I have been here.
I don't think .... hey wait a minute - I see what's going on. You put up a little item referencing Saskatchewan figuring old willy might take the bait and write up a journal explaining or clarifying the statistics from the ' scene of the crime '. Very clever. Well, just for spite, I am going to do that. I might mention the anomaly of a small population that that can skew perceptions of per capita numbers. I will link to the three articles in my paper today regarding the statistics. I will look up demographic stats and types of crimes and distribution profiles. And I will mention the elephant in the room.
But not till Saturday. I am tied up tonight ( no, not as a result of a crime ) and the Riders are playing tomorrow ( the hated honourable opponent Eskies ).
I will say in advance that it is convenient that there are no rating on this site as yet. I'll bet you can guess where I am going.

Wha, me?

I would never

Hey. sorry 'bout that ass whupping last week.

Even the Vancouver dailies were predicting Riders by four. 'Twas a costly win though in other ways. We'll find out how much real pain it caused us  tonight.

Sadly, I do know what the 'elephant in the room' is, same one as in Manitoba's living room. Didn't want to have to tackle that one myself. So, I would suspect that when SK's 'new sheriff' takes office that they will be talking a lot about cleaning up the town and locking up Evil Roy Slade

Everything's cheaper than it looks.

Three items - I'll start from the bottom

Evil Roy Slade - a classic, as funny as Blazing Saddles if my failing memory serves me correctly. I never see it on late night TV. Pity.
Same elephant, undoubtedly smaller than the ones further north. What's the difference ? Hell, I don't even know if there are significant differences. All I have is impressions, and I don't like my tone. Must google.
Sorry 'bout the ass whupping ? Ok, I'll take that at face value ( did you have your fingers crossed behind your back ? ). I don't know if the Rider's will profit from their comeuppance but hopefully it will keep a minority of Rider fans from talking out their ass. It's early in the season - it was way worse than it should have been - we messed up most everywhere ( turnovers suck ) - you got a good team - send Clairmont home ( his momma misses him ).
The injuries will all be healed come the playoffs. Dickenson is one of the best but he is getting a little fragile for the sport ( he won't last like Allen ). Fortunately for the Lions, losing a star quarterback does not diminish their odds of winning.

I am a little ticked now !!!

Not at you ff. I just finished watching the Rider / Eskies game.

The Riders lost - big surprise - I have seen this dog and pony show before.
Could someone, anyone, please tell the Riders that the other teams can and sometimes do adjust strategy, tactics and game plan at half time. They adapt to what worked and didn't work in the first half. In theory the Riders could too. Or they could simply realize that the opposition might. Am I asking too much ?
We had some success in the first half and left the field with a 19 point lead. In the second half we managed to lose the game by one point. Priceless.
