Getting rich quick and the law of unintended consequences.

It always fascinates me when some pro "free market" types tell us that regulations are what kills business.

They tell us that it stifles innovation.
How dare those commies try to regulate anything?

The free market is the hand of god they say. They want the government agencies that regulate food safety and medical, big pharma and the environmentalists to back off. They also insist that the companies will regulate in the best interest of the consumer. Or they will go broke. They say. But no one seems to pay all that much attention to the facts as usual. Follow me on a magical mystery tour of no regulation, deregulation and greed.

In the last couple years there have been theories about why the bees are disappearing.

So reasonable and open minded their brains fell out.

I know. I didn't happen to see *direct* misogyny in the posts from a couple minor bloggers who stated they think it's a fine'ol idea to debate the rights of women in Canada.

I do see the passive mysoginistic result of their uneducated and so reasoooooooooonable screeds. They are deliberately missing the whole point of Woodworths "debate" or they don't give a hoot as it doesn't affect them? Not sure.  They totally missed the facts about abortion in Canada. One who was defending them keeps spewing right wing myths in defense. Oblivious. No Grit there. Just mush.

A couple years back another male Prob blogger told me that he hoped for a Harper Mahjoritay so that people could learn their lesson.

When I pointed out that this (now current, and I was right) mahjoritay was going to be bad for women, he said....Wait for it. It's a doozy....

Women should just keep their legs closed for a few years.

Nope. Not a horror movie. Well, kind of. The current Governments plans for the rest of us, are the stuff that horror movies are made of.

I have a long story to tell. Pull up a chair. Sit down. Make sure you close your knees.

Harper has sworn, up and down. Sideways. That the abortion debate will not be opened again in Canada.

But his MP's, members of his party that he has such control over in everything else have other ideas.

It's time to pay up the debt to the religious right, the fanatics who have helped them get into power.
And part of that would be criminalizing abortion.

As many of you know, we have no abortion laws in Canada. And it has worked out very well over the last years.

We have a lower teen pregnancy rate because we haven't traveled into the abstinence only la la land.

We have a lower abortion rate than countries that have outlawed it.

Subversive, Banana BANANA chocolate chip muffins.

I have been making these the last few weeks, and they all disappear within an hour.
It's an "evolved" recipe, and I am putting measurements to the closest I can.

When a banana reaches a stage where they are too ripe to eat I toss them in the freezer just as they are. They turn black, but thaw very quickly when needed. This is a very FAST recipe to make up.
I used Chiquita banana's today. So that made me an ENEMY OF the GOVERNMENT of CANADA and probably ANTI CANADIAN according to Mike "Joe" Duffy! Which of course just makes them totally yummier.

Medium bowl in this order:

5 very ripe banana's, mashed until they are pretty smooth.  Mix in the next one.....

1 cup brown or golden sugar, lightly packed. (whatever was on sale)

Mix well until smooth, and then add the following:

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup low fat buttermilk

Transfats, ANGRY BAIRDS!

Honest, a study came out about the effects of transfats and aggressive behaviour.

"If the association between trans fats and aggressive behaviour proves to be causal, this adds further rationale to recommendations to avoid eating trans fats, or including them in foods provided at institutions like schools and prisons, since the detrimental effects of trans fats may extend beyond the person who consumes them to affect others," Golomb said.

The Harper Cons just backed away from banning them.

Mas-debating in da' house.

Yesterday, we were told by the "senate" that anyone who disagrees with the Harper and co agenda is "Evil"  "anti-Canadian".

So that would be all environmental groups.
I am thinking their unpublished list also includes any of them Wimmins groupings and such.

Not all foundations, of course, were "evil," Mockler said. "Just some of them."
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation did good work, as did The Rockerfeller Foundation and the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families.

But others were "qualified bad, not to mention ugly, foundations," Mockler said, listing: The David Suzuki Foundation, the Packard Foundation, the Greenpeace International Foundation, the Sierra Club Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation, the Ecojustice Canada Bullitt Foundation, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, Tides Canada and the MADD foundation.

HOLEEEEEE! But wait, There's MORE!

Spiders, dead things, the dentist and grocery shopping.

What do all of these items have in common?
I detest them all. All the items in that list, I would rather avoid.

But since we have kids, and really have no choice in the matter, I find myself there at least once a week.

Now, in my little town there is not too much choice of where to shop, and for a while I was going to the big evil conglomerate chain store, part of the massive Loblaws chain. It is them or the REALLY pricey store in town, or the IGA (Pronounced Igga) a few more KMS in the next community.

The large chain does have a few items I cannot get anywhere else.  Few.

But in the last few years they have also cut out a lot of other items I buy regularly. Mostly baking stuff. The store is piled to the rafters with instant anything, but if you are seriously cooking from scratch or anything exotic, they are not the place to go.

Coren: Nothing here to see. And it's the leftists fault. ADSCAM! also.

As usual, the usual suspects want YOU to go back to sleep.

Catering to the uneducated, the ideologues and the tin foil hatters. Because in Coren-land, all is a Librul conspiracy meant to make the Conservatives look bad. And ADSCAM. Also.

Talk about personal responsibility.  It's always someone elses fault in Conservaland.

If Coren hit you with his car, he would say it is the victims fault, and the victim would suddenly be some evul leftist out to get him. That's just the way he rolls.

But then the next day he would pretend that he never ever hit someone with his car. And someone in the Librul party once hit someone with a car, so it's ok even if he did. Also.

Facts do not matter these people, which has been obvious for many years to most of us. This current Conservative scandal is just indicitive of how far gone they are.  They simply do not care.

Viagra= Slut

Channeling the inner Stoopid from the Republicans in the US....

ARE YOU sick and tired of paying higher health care costs so these sluts can go and have as much sex as they want?

CAFFERTY: Well, you know, the answer is Viagra is used to treat a medical condition, erectile dysfunction. Birth control is a lifestyle choice. And that's why insurance companies don't reimburse for it unless pregnancy represents a danger for the woman. And then there's a gray area where you can do a negotiation.

[he] goes before a TV audience
and essentially says the he must be paid to have sex, and what does that make him? It makes him a slut, right? It makes him a prostitute. He wants to be paid to have sex. He's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. He wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay him to have sex. What does that make us? We're the pimps.

Freepers, Creepers...

On twitter this morning, Steve at Far and wide makes the following observation:

44% believe robocalls changed outcome of election, 36% do not. That is surprising! #angusreid

I am not completely sure what portion he is surprised about,  that 44% are seeing reality? (AMEN)  Or that 36% are convinced that it's all ok. Nothing to see here. I think, his surprise was simply facetiousness....He ain't no rube.

But, we can see that the 36% who see nothing wrong, is close to the number who still support the Harpercons, according to a recent Nanos poll.

Parts of that same demographic spend hours freeping online polls and trumpeting the ensuing skewed results. Recall teh MASSIVE POLL?

Electile disfunction.

As usual, feel free.

What is getting lost in all of this, is the fact that this scandal is even happening.

Yes some races were tight.

31,000+ complaints? That is a massive number in this country.

But some keep trying to shift the focus. They are looking at what races could have been affected. Answer: ALL of them. The whole country has been tainted. This is like a poisonous tooth, and we need to remove it.

What really matters, is that someone even tried to hijack the election.

Looking at who would have benefited, the culprits look pretty clearly outlined.
Whatever happened, was illegal, immoral, and completely against Canadian values.

The Harper Cons have been spinning and twisting and even suggesting that the Libs did this themselves....

How to prove you are a Conservative?

SUE the bastards!
Too funny.

RackNine Inc. and its chief executive officer Matt Meier have followed through on an earlier threat and served NDP MP Pat Martin and his party with a $5-million lawsuit Friday.
The Edmonton-based call centre company that is part of the ongoing election calls controversy is suing for defamation, claiming that multiple comments made by Martin, and published by the NDP on its website, demonstrated malice and caused the company to lose business.

If Racknine wanted to keep up the "nonpartisan" pretense, there is little chance now....
But yanno,it would be hard to see many buying into their story. It looks like they have a lot of contacts with the Harper Cons.
I think they will be losing business as well, but more because the whole story has been blown and what appears to be a HUGE client will probably looking elsewhere for "services".
This is all far too out in the open now. The Cons will be looking for something a lot more out of the way. Like Racknine used to be.

Better than a goat and a chandelier......

January 11th, 2012.

They are contemptuous of anyone that disagrees with them, and even of the ones they have hoodwinked into voting against their own best interests.

I do hope someone gets a pic of Harper with a goat and a chandelier soon. This is not going to end well, but it will end.

This, is better in some ways.

One: no one really wants to see Harper In flagrante delicto anyway. I can only imagine the result would be like the great Pokemon seizure incident of 1997.

Voter Suppression.

That is technically the accurate terminology.

Voter suppression is a strategy to influence the outcome of an election by discouraging or preventing people from exercising their right to vote. It is distinguished from political campaigning in that campaigning attempts to change likely voting behavior by changing the opinions of potential voters through persuasion and organization. Voter suppression instead attempts to reduce the number of voters who might vote against the candidate or proposition advocated by the suppressors.

Yes, it is fraud. But voter fraud is different.

Examples of voter fraud would be when someone tries to vote more than once, or under a different name.

Say it with me; A$$hole. Of the day.

Oh bloody hell, how does one even get this friggin clueless?

“People who don’t have money don’t understand the stress,” said Alan Dlugash, a partner at accounting firm Marks Paneth & Shron LLP in New York who specializes in financial planning for the wealthy. “Could you imagine what it’s like to say I got three kids in private school, I have to think about pulling them out? How do you do that?”

and then THIS:

“If you’re making $50,000 and your salary gets down to $40,000 and you have to cut, it’s very severe to you,” Dlugash said. “But it’s no less severe to these other people with these big numbers.”

Actually, at that level; $50,000 after a 1/5 cut it means EATING or not. At $250,000 minus 1/5th it's one less car or vacation.

And that is why Occupy gets so much support. Because the elites really think that they are oh so hard done by.
